The drawings and sketches are executed by the artist during the conception phase of his projects are a way to eternalise ephemeral art like Christo's. This is the case with the packaging projects of the Reichstag in Berlin and the Pont Neuf in Paris, the wrapped cliffs of Sydney and the fluttering drapes in New York's Central Park.
The Project of Over The River Was Conceived in 1992 and included 5.9 miles (9.5 kilometers) from Silvery, the most luminous fabric panels stretched out of the water in eight distinct areas along a 42-mile (67.6 kilometer) stretch of the Arkansas River between Canyon City and Salida in south-central Colorado.
Over the river, project for the Arkansas River, State of Colorado is a preparatory sketch made by the artist in 2006. Its special value has been carried out by hand in pencil and crayon.
